How EA handles local data, email permissions, backups and user control.
Privacy Policy
The Electricians Assistant is designed as local-first software for electrical contractors. The software stores certificate and related job records on the user’s own device unless the user deliberately exports, emails, backs up or syncs that data.
Data EA may store locally
- user and engineer names and roles,
- contractor details,
- client names and contact details,
- property and installation details,
- certificate records,
- PDF documents generated by the user,
- email sending settings and connection tokens,
- audit and support logs,
- beta activation and licensing details.
Email access
If the user connects an email provider, EA uses that connection to send user-approved electrical certificates and related PDF documents from the user’s own mailbox.
EA’s Gmail integration is intended to use the Gmail API only to send user-approved PDF documents. EA does not use Gmail access to read inbox contents, sell user data, serve advertising, or train unrelated AI systems.
Local storage and backups
EA stores data locally. Users are responsible for controlling access to their own device, operating-system account, backups and exported files.
Users should keep regular backups of their EA data folder. Backups should be stored only in trusted locations.
Disconnecting email
Users can disconnect Microsoft Graph or Google/Gmail from EA in Settings > Email. Users can also revoke access from their Microsoft or Google account security settings.

Google User Data and Gmail Sending
The Electricians Assistant may connect to a user’s Google/Gmail account only when the user chooses the Google/Gmail email sending option in the application settings.
When Google/Gmail is connected, The Electricians Assistant requests the following Google user data and permissions:
- The email address and basic Google account identity needed to show which Gmail account is connected.
- Permission to send email through the connected Gmail account using the Gmail API scope
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send.
The Electricians Assistant uses this Google user data only to:
- confirm which Gmail account is connected to the software;
- send user-approved emails from that Gmail account;
- attach user-approved PDF documents generated by the software, such as certificates and related PDF documents;
- record basic sending status in the local application record, such as the recipient, sent date, and Google message identifier.
The Electricians Assistant does not use Gmail access to read, search, download, scan, modify or delete the user’s Gmail inbox or email history. The application does not request access to Gmail read, Gmail modify, Google Drive, Google Calendar or Google Contacts permissions.
The Electricians Assistant does not sell Google user data. Google user data is not shared with advertisers or data brokers. Email content and attachments are sent only to the recipient addresses chosen by the user when sending documents from the software. Google receives the email message and attachment through the Gmail API in order to deliver the email from the connected Gmail account.
Google OAuth tokens and email connection details are stored locally by The Electricians Assistant on the user’s own device or office server. Sensitive email connection secrets are stored in the local EA data store using local encryption and operating-system file permissions. The Electricians Assistant does not operate a central cloud service that receives or stores users’ Gmail OAuth tokens.
Google user data is retained only for as long as the Gmail connection remains configured in The Electricians Assistant. The user can disconnect Google/Gmail in the Email settings page, which removes the stored Gmail refresh token and connected-account details from the local application settings. Users may also delete the local application data to remove local email settings and audit records.
The Electricians Assistant uses Google user data only in accordance with the permissions granted by the user and the Google API Services User Data Policy.
